How to calm your mind, body and soul before the big day

Sure , you’ve found the perfect guy to spend your life with, but preparing for the big day can be nerve-wracking with all the wedding planning madness. Getting ready for a wedding takes months, and really, the best way to do it is to take it easy, start early and make all the necessary arrangements long before the wedding day. To make sure that you’re sane and have a good time planning your wedding, we’ve put together some tips that’ll keep you relaxed and calm through the entire process –




Hire a wedding planner



If you want to make sure you’re not stressed, and can afford one, go ahead and hire a wedding planner to help you plan your wedding. Preparing for a big ceremony takes a lot of time, effort and resources, so make sure you meet with someone who’s aligned to your vision of your big day, communicate all your ideas with them and hand over the stress to them. It can really help you take a load off and focus on other fun aspects of the wedding.




Meditate



Meditating can help you align your thoughts faster, leaving you stress- free and thinking straight for the million decisions you have to make as a bride or groom. Spend at least 15 mins a day unwinding and in peace so you can do focused work later.




Get plenty of sleep and rest



We’re sure the stress will keep you up at night, but ensure you are getting enough of your beauty sleep everyday – a minimum of 6-7 hours a night. After all, that’s crucial and you do have a job to do other than wedding planning that also requires your energies!




Make sure you eat well



And yes, this means no junk food. Junk food can be a comfort during the stress and is great for cheat days, but indulging in unhealthy food can drain you out faster, add extra pounds, and make you feel bloated before the wedding. Go out and have fun



Make sure you meet your friends at least once a week to vent or just chill. Wedding planning can get pretty exhausting and if you don’t go out once in a while, it’ll only add to the stress. Make time for your fiance, make it a point to go out on date nights to make sure you’ll are on the same page from time to time. As tough as it may sound, squeezing in time to hit the gym is crucial for fitting into those gorgeous lehenga’s and cocktail dresses and for your overall physical and mental health. This also makes sure you take some time off for yourself everyday.




Take care of your skin



This is the time to indulge yourself and go for weekly massages and facials to keep your body ready for the big day. Make sure you start taking care of your skin and body months in advance with a good regime. And don’t forget to pamper yourself in the salon.




Embrace the change



It is common to have fears and concerns before getting married. Make sure you establish great communication with your partner and speak to him/her about your worries and thoughts so they can make you feel better and you can embrace this new part of your life completely and make sure you’re there for your partner during their times of need too!
