The Sangeet

One of the first functions was the sangeet, where the bride and her friends danced the night away. There were some stellar performances, but Pernia was the real star of her own sangeet performances. She wore an intricately embroidered rose gold and blush pink lehenga by Faraz Manan which was the personification of sophisticated and sultry which she paired with a statement necklace, earrings and a gorgeous maang tikka from Amrapali Jewels. Her simple, minimal makeup was done by Namrata Soni, and we have to hand it to the makeup artist for doing such a phenomenal job. Sahil, the groom, kept it simple and stylish in a navy blue geometric kurta pajama set from Kunal Rawal.

The Wedding

Pernia Qureshi made one of the most spectacular bridal entries the world has ever seen. The doors of the Ciragan Palace opened and Pernia walked out in this striking silver lehenga and kurta set with an endless veil by Elan. This kurta set was bedazzled with Swarovski crystals, had handcraft gota embroidery and traditional fabric florals which took over 500 hours to create! We especially loved how the bride made a grand but coy entry as her veil covered her face. Two of her bridesmaids lifted her veil as she made her solo entry and walked to her groom-to-be, following which was the nikkah.

The Reception

One of the outfits that took the fashion world by storm, and is definitely close to Pernia’s heart was her red reception outfit. That stunning outfit was originally hand stitched by Pernia’s nani for her daughter on her wedding day, and Pernia decided to go down the traditional route by wearing her mother’s wedding outfit. Of course, she put her own little spin on this and had it redone by House of Kotwara, but it has to be one of the most stunning outfits we’ve ever seen!
